Ashby Castle: Part 2
August 19, 2009 by chrisseddonweddingphotographer
Seeing as I took so many photos here, I thought I’d spread them across 2 pages for you.
The garden tower again.
I thought they were what was left of some ornamental garden ponds, but it turns out that they actually had sunken gardens that you could actually walk down into. Fancy.
View of the castle from across the sunken gardens.
They certainly liked their windows in this place!
Hastings Tower
I think this was part of the chapel inside the castle grounds.
Huge, impressive window. There are 3 different periods of architecture in this shot if you notice. The church through the window and the big stately home to the right...oh, and the castle parts obviously.
One of the elaborate fireplaces that is left in the ruins.
As we were leaving, we found a tiny model of the castle at the top of these steps!
